Abstract:Objective:To study the effect of hejiejusan formula on expression of ECM, including fibronectin(FN) and Collagen Type Ⅳ(Col Ⅳ) in unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO)-induced renal interstitial fibrosis(RIF) rats.Methods:RIF model rats were established by UUO. All the UUO rats randomly divided into model group, benazepril group, hejiejusan formula group. Healthy rats were chosen as the sham operation group. The rats were killed on the seventh, fourteenth and twenty-one days in batches respectively after UUO. The protein expression of FN and Col Ⅳ in kidney tissues were detected by Immunohistoche- mistry.Results:Compared with model group, the protein expression of FN in hejiejusan formula groups of three time points were all significantly decreased (P0.05), but Col Ⅳ decreased only in 7 days group(P0.05).Conclusion:Hejiejusan formula has the function of down-regulating the expression of ECM in RIF rats at three time points after UUO, especially early. It suggests to some extent, the effectiveness and superiority of hejiejusan formula, the correctness of hejiejusan method which is under the guidance of pathogenesis of shenluojusanxiaozhang theory.
