Effects of Zhisou Powder on Airway Inflammation and Th1/Th2 Balance in Peripheral Blood of Rats with Cough Variant Asthma

Objective:To explore the effects of Zhisou Powder on airway inflammation and Th1/Th2 balance in peripheral blood of rats with cough variant asthma.Methods:A total of 48 male SD rats were randomly divided into a normal control group,a model control group,a dexamethasone group(0.2 mg/kg),a Zhisou Powder high-dose(12.6 g/kg),a medium-dose(6.3g/kg)and low-dose(3.1 g/kg)groups,with 8 rats in each group.Sensitized with ovalbumin(OVA)excitation of cough variant asthma model rats,each rat blood eosinophils and neutrophils and lymphocytes in content was detected.Enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA)was used to determine serum and alveolar lavage fluid(BALF)of IL-4 and IFN-gamma level.At the same time lung tissue pathology testing was done.Results:The absolute value of eosinophil and lymphocyte in blood of rats,the content of IL-4 and IFN-γin serum and BALF in Zhisou Powder high-dose group were decreased,and the differences were significant compared with model group(P<0.01,P<0.05).At the same time,it can improve inflammatory cell infiltration of lung tissue and reduce fibrous connective tissue hyperplasia.Conclusion:Zhisou Powder can reduce the content of IL-4 in serum and BALF,increase the content of IFN-γ,regulate the immune imbalance of Th1/Th2 and improve the symptoms of cough variant asthma.
