Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of SOAP record method based on competency in the teaching of rehabilitation therapy.Methods The fifty-five students majoring in rehabilitation therapy were divided into SOAP recording group and traditional recording group during the teaching from September 2018 to January 2020.SOAP recording group assessed patients and made plans by themselves.Traditional recording group analyzed patients with the help of teachers.In the progress of practice study,students analyzed the occupational therapy of hemiplegia patients as the examination.The questionnaire survey was conducted for the two groups of students.Results The score of occupational therapy analysis in SOAP recording group was higher than that in the traditional recording group in terms of objective(P=0.017),assessment(P=0.009),plan(P=0.006),reflection(P=0.029)and total grades(P=0.007).The questionnaire showed that students’evaluation of the SOAP record method was superior to the traditional record method.It could stimulate the enthusiasm of learning(P=0.012),improve clinical techniques(P=0.035),standard case writing(P=0.012)and improve clinical thinking(P=0.030).Conclusion SOAP recording method based on competency is better than traditional recording method in practice teaching of rehabilitation therapy.
