Absorption and Transport of Vitamin B12

A review of recent advances is presented, mostly dealing with physiological mechanisms and the chemical and functional properties of the transport proteins. A new nomenclature is proposed for the R-proteins and transcobalamin II. Scepticism is expressed as to whether we are warranted in accepting the different R-proteins as separate entities.
