| Abstract: | The progress of controlling strategies for initial burst release of sustained-release injectable microspheres loaded with proteins is reviewed. The effects of several methods including structure modification of drugs, characterization of polymer materials, additives in formulation, preparation, diameter and drug loading of microspheres, on the burst release of microspheres are discussed. |
