The Investigation and Analysis on Depression of 719 Students in High Schools

Objective：A preliminary understanding of the depression on students in high schools applies to analyze the variable difference of depression occurring with age, sex, being left behind or not. Methods： 719 selected students, from junior high school to grade one of senior high school in Yingshan county of Nanchong, were interviewed by self-rating depression scale （SDS） to do Survey of Depression. Results： 1. The Detection Rate of depressive symptom is 43.5%. Among them, the Detection Rate of depressive symptom is 46.8%. 2. The analysis of variance on multiple factors of depression indicates the main effect of age and whether being left or not is prominent. The interaction between whether being left-behind or not and their ages is prominent. Conclusion： 1. Depression is a common psychological disorder on students in high school, especially; who are left behind, who should be highly concerned about. 2. There are significant differences between the depression of students in high school on ages and whether being left behind or not.
