Characteristics of hydrocortisone action on the biosynthesis of mitochondrial and cytoplasmic RNA in rat liver cells at different thyroid hormone levels in the body

Hydrocortisone effect on RNA synthesis was shown to depend on thyroid hormone levels: the inducing action of hydrocortisone on RNA synthesis in liver mitochondria was revealed only in intact and triiodothyronine-treated thyroidectomized rats. In hypothyrosis hydrocortisone failed to produce a significant change in intensity of mitochondrial and cytoplasmic RNA synthesis.
