Methodology of Pharmacoeconomic Studies and Its Application

Pharmacoeconomics, a new frontier science, has been set - up and developed on the basis of health economics. It applies the basic principle, methodology and analytical technology of economic evaluation to medical intervention processes aiming at the rational allocation and use of limited national medical resourses and lightening the heavy burden on both government and patients. The strategic decisions in the economic evaluation are the perspective of the proposed study, the choice of the comparator, the analytic framework and to whom the results will be reported. The article gave an in - depth analysis of several commonly used forms of economic evaluation.
