Abstract:??OBJECTIVE To investigate the hypolipidemic effect of polyphenols from Rubus suavissirnus S.Lee (RSLP) in hyperlipidemic rats and its mechanisms. METHODS Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group, hyperlipidemia model group, positive control group, RSLP low, medium and high-dose groups(4.5, 9.0, 18.0 g??kg-1??d-1). The normal control group was fed normal diet and other five groups were fed high-fat diet. After administrations for 12 weeks, The contents of serum total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST) and fatty acid synthase(FAS) were measured. The contents of liver superoxide dismutase(SOD), malondialdehyde(MDA) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were detected. RESULTS RSLP could obviously decrease the contents of serum TC, TG, LDL-C, ALT and FAS, increase the contents of serum HDL-C and liver SOD, reduce the contents of liver MDA and GSH-Px. CONCLUSION RSLP can significantly decrease blood lipid.
