| Abstract: | We report the case of a patient who showed clinical and radiological signs of massive polyethylene wear 3 years after total hip replacement. Arthroscopy was performed to assess the loosening of the acetabular cup. The procedure showed the polyethylene element to be broken into three pieces in the area corresponding to the upper border.
