Abstract:
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is one of the most common laparoscopic surgical procedures in the world today and has become the standard procedure for the treatment of gallstone disease. Symptomatic cholelithiasis in a patient with situs inversus can give rise to a diagnostic dilemma and calls for modification of the operative approach. We report one such case outlining how the diagnosis was made and describing the pitfalls encountered during surgery and how they were overcome.
