| Abstract: | Ectopic thyroid tissue was discovered in the mucosa of the pyriform sinus as an incidental finding in two patients who underwent laryngectomy for squamous cell carcinoma. Reports of ectopic parathyroid tissue in the neck are summarized, and the relevance for the endocrine surgeon is discussed. |
