| Abstract: | Objective To investigate the incidence and related factors of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter （PICC） misplacement so as to reduce its occurrence rate. Methods A total of 200 eases of patients with PICC were selected. The incidence of catheter misplacement was investigated and its related factors were analyzed. Results The incidence of PICC catheter misplacement was 11.00%. The incidence of PICC catheter misplacement was not different in patients with different age group, sex and body position during puncture （ P 〉 0.05 ）. The puncture via cephalic vein had higher incidence of catheter misplacement than via basilic vein （ P 〈0.01 ） and median vein （P 〈 0. 05 ）. The incidence of catheter misplacement had no significant difference between basillc vein and median vein （P 〉 0.05）. Conclusion It is suggested to insert PICC according to standardized operational procedure and select basilic vein preferentially,thus reducing the incidence of catheter misplacement. |
