Abstract: | The removal of multiple osteomas, especially on the forehead, can be a difficult and time consuming procedure, which can be complicated by bleeding because the region is well vascularized. We describe a quick and simple method to remove multiple osteomas by “decapping” the overlying tissue with a CO2 laser and removing the osteomas with a cup curette to give good cosmetic results and a high level of patient satisfaction. As an improvement of previously described methods, we suggest that the laser beam is applied to the osteomas slightly off center in order to facilitate mechanical extraction with the curette through as small a hole as possible. |
