Abstract: | Spurred by recent advances in the ancientscience of acupuncture in China, world interestin the subject has renewed. While the benefitsof acupuncture are evident, its. mode of actionand the existence of channels and collaterals aremajor controversial subjects. Based on personalexperience and that of some of their colleaguesand patients, the authors believe that channelsand collaterals exist. These channels not onlyplay a role in the treatment of deep seated dis-eases and analgesia induction and probably a.lsomoderate normal healthy perception. The ex-istence of channels and their collaterals has notbeen proved anatomically. |
