In order to understand th; condition of lower respiratory tract infection of trachcostomized patients , the bacterial culture of sputum was carried out in 23 tracheostottwed cases without non - respiratory disease through a simple and deep collecting sputum vncthod . The investigation showed thai there were 13 kinds of the pathogenic or-guiism ; 8 types of gram - negative and 5 types of gram - positive bacteria respectively . The infection rate of P aruginosa was the highest (34.4% )and next as S aureus (26.1% ). The device employed in the investigation is easy to operate so that it is useful in carrying out the bacteriologic cxaminating in sputum . |
