Clinical observation on the eff ect of TCM fumigation and washing combined with narrow-spectrum red glow to promote wound healing after perianal abscess operation

Objective To observe the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)fumigating and washing combined with narrow-spectrum red glow to accelerate wound healing after perianal abscess operation and its effect on serum inflammatory cytokines.Methods 42 patients with low perianal abscess were divided into treatment group(n=21)and control group(n=21).The treatment group was treated by TCM fumigating and washing combined with narrow-spectrum red glow,while the control group was treated by hip bath with potassium permanganate combined with narrow-spectrum red glow.The changes of pain,granulation growth and secretion of wound,as well as the levels of serum inflammatory cytokines(CRP,TNF-αand IL-6)before and after treatment were observed.Results There was no significant difference in the scores of wound pain,granulation growth and secretion between the two groups on the first day after operation(P>0.05).But from the third day after operation,the clinical effect of TCM fumigation and washing combined with narrow-spectrum red glow group was significantly better than that of the control group,and there was significant difference(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the serum CRP,TNF-αand IL-6 levels between the two groups before treatment,while the serum levels of CRP,TNF-αand IL-6 in the two groups after operation were lower than those before operation(P<0.05).The serum levels of inflammatory cytokines in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group at the same time node on the 3rd and 7th day after operation(P<0.05).Conclusion TCM fumigation and washing combined with narrow-spectrum red glow is effective in the treatment of wounds after perianal abscess operation,and it can inhibit the release of inflammatory cytokines and reduce the inflammatory response of wounds.
