Advances in the Anatomic Study of Facial Retaining Ligament

The facial retaining ligament mainly includes zygomatic ligament,mandibular ligament,platysmaauricular ligament and platysmal cutaneous ligament. As the anchoring points for SMAS and dermis,ligaments provide support for face soft tissue to resist gravational changes. Vessels and nerves usually course with the company of these ligaments which can be landmarks during face lift surgeries.
