Neutrophils are a special type of white blood cells within the body,it is the first line of defense against the invasive factors such as bacteria,viruses and fungi.The mechanism of clinically excessive uncontrolled inflammation may be closely correlated with the neutrophil number and function changes due to due to the abnormal neutrophil apoptosis.Neutrophil apoptosis maintains a balance in the number of neutrophils and a stable internal environment.The neutrophil apoptosis is regulated by a variety of external factors,involving muliple genes,many cytokines,and several independent or crosslinked pathways.
