Efficacy of icotinib combined with video assisted thoracoscopic surgery for non-small cell lung cancer

Objective To explore the effects of icotinib tablets combined with video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(VATS)on quality of life and vascular endothelial growth factor-C(VEGF-C)in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods From December 2018 to June 2020,82 patients with NSCLC were selected at Liaoyou Baoshihua Hospital and were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group with 41 patients in each group.The observation group received icotinib plus VATS and the control group received VATS.The clinical therapeutic efficacy,VEGF-C level,quality of life and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The disease control rate was 73.2%in the observation group which was higher than 48.8%of the control group(P<0.05).The level of VEGF-C was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,quality of life was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Icotinib combined with VATS can effectively reduce the level of VEGF-C,improve the disease control rate and quality of life in patients with NSCLC with good safety.
