Abstract: | We describe the case of a 22-year-old Portuguese renal transplant patient whose post-transplant course was complicated by prolonged delayed graft function and pyrexia of unknown origin. Conventional imaging techniques were not definitive, but positron-emission tomography (PET) scanning identified abnormalities in the lung and mediastinum that led to a diagnostic biopsy demonstrating mycobacterial infection. |
