Clinical analysis on the effects of radiofrequency ablation and abdominal hysterectomy on hysteromyoma

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of radiofrequency ablation （RFA）and abdominal hysterectomy on hysteromyoma. Methods A total of 1501 cases of hysteromyoma were divided into 2 groups. One group （731 eases） was treated with RFA and the other group （770 cases） was treated with abdominal hysterectomy. Results Effective rate of the RFA group was 94.3%, with less treatment time, faster recovery and lower rate of complication, while the effective rate of the other group （diameter of the tumour ≥8 cm） was 97.5%, with slower recovery, higher rate of complication and higher fee for hospitalization treatment. Conclusion RFA was a good approach for the treatment of hysteromyoma, having the features of simple manipulation and safety. However, different treatment methods should be applied to cope with different conditions of patients.
