Abstract: | A case of sequential spontaneous loss of flexion in the thumb and index finger over a 10 year period is reported. Previously unrecognized carpal collapse as a consequence of a longstanding scaphoid nonunion was identified as the cause. Fusion of the interphalangeal joint of the thumb and suture of the index profundus tendon to the middle profundus tendon resulted in a good outcome. |
