Abstract: | We present the management of a pregnancy complicated by maternal hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM), an uncommon but significant cardiac lesion. While it is accepted practice to manage such cases in a tertiary setting with multidisciplinary involvement, we reflect that the ultimate management of the birth should centre on obstetric principles. A discussion and literature review of HOCM, pregnancy and anaesthetic management is provided. |
