Investigation on High Frequency Ultrasound in Detection of Vascular Endothelial Function in Patients With Cerebral Infarction and Transient Ischendc Attack

Abstract:
Objective:To study the intima-media thickness(IMT),vascular elasticity and the vascular endothelial function in patients with cerebral infarction and transient ischemic attack(TIA).Methods:Subjects were divided into three groups:cerebral infarction group,TIA group and normal volunteers with the same age,30 cases for each group.IMT,systolic diameter(SD)and diastolic diameter(DD)of the carotid atery were measured with high-frequency ultrasound,the parameters of elastic properties were calculated,such as distensibility,compliance of common carotid artery(CCA).Subject's dilation of the brachial artery to reactive hyperemia(DTRH)and the dilation to sublingual nitroglycerin administration(DTNG)were observed and compared.Results:As compared with TIA and normal group,the IMT of cerebral infarction was increased(P0.01),vascular elasticity and vascular endothelial function were reduced significantly(P0.01).As compared with the normal group,the vascular endothelial function of TIA was reduced significantly(P0.01).The vascular endothelial function was negatively correlated with the IMT,but positively correlated with distensibility and conformability of CCA.Conclusions:Brachial artery dependend endothelial function,IMT of CCA and vascular elasticity can be indicators for treatment and prognosis of patients with cerebral infarction and TIA.
