Design of self-made compression device and its clinical application after operation of implanting permanent pacemaker

Objective To explore the clinical effect of self-made compression device after operation of implanting permanent pacemaker. Methods A total of 182 patients with pacemaker implantation in our hospital from March 2020 to November 2020 were randomly divided into observation group (91 cases) and control group (91 cases). The observation group was used self-made compression device in postoperative care, while the control group was used traditional sandbag compression. The postoperative complications (electrode displacement, pocket hematoma, subcutaneous ecchymosis), comfort (shoulder and back pain, incision swelling, dysuria, difficulty in falling asleep) and satisfaction of medical staff were observed. Results There was no significant difference in the incidence of electrode displacement between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidence of pocket hematoma and subcutaneous ecchymosis in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05), and the comfort and satisfaction of medical staff in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The self-made compression device is a worthy method replacing traditional sandbag compression in postoperative care of permanent pacemaker implantation.
