Abstract: | The effect of reserpine, -methyl-dl-m-tyrosine (-MT), diethyl-dithiocarbamate (DDC) and p-chlorophenylalanine (p-Clphe) pretreatment on tremorine induced analgesia has been studied in mice by various methods. The ED 50 of tremorine was significantly increased by all the methods when the animals were pretreated with reserpine, DDC and p-Clphe. -MT had no significant effect on tremorine induced analgesia. The results are discussed with respect to the role of brain amines in the analgesic action of tremorine. |
