Abstract: | Salient features of diagnosis and treatment of anorectal diseases are briefly presented to serve as a guide to those who do not specialize in proctology. Established principles and procedures are re-emphasized and new and important facts, such as chemotherapy for anorectal manifestations of venereal lymphogranuloma and uncomplicated anal gonorrhea, and tattooing of the anal and perianal areas with mercury sulfide for intractable pernicious pruritus ani, are discussed. |
