Exploration on the efficacy of Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture and moxibustion in treating post-herpetic neuralgia

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture and moxibustion in treating post-herpetic neuralgia.Methods A total of 80 patients with post-herpetic neuralgia were divided into control group and observation group according to random numerical table,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine symptomatic therapy,and the observation group was treated with Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture and moxibustion.The pain improvement effect and sleep quality improvement effect of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of pain improvement of the observation group was 92.5%,which was higher than 75.0%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of sleep quality improvement 90.0%of the observation group was higher than 72.5%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Chinese medicine in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia can help to improve the adverse effects of the disease on normal life and work,and alleviate the related symptoms,which is worthy of clinical promotion.
