| Abstract: | Aim,lnordertodecreasethecomplicatonsofsurigcaltreatmentofchronicatrialfibril-lation,anewsurgicalprocedurewasdesignedandappliedclinicallywithsuccess.Method,Basednnthecardio-electricdynamicstructureofatrialfibrillation,thenewlydesignedtechniquetorestorethesinusrhythmoffers3advantages,(1)minimizingtheareaofsurgicalincisionsontheatrialwall.(2)usingelectro-thermalablationasasubstituteforsurgicalincisionstoreducethecomplicationst(3)applyinganadditionalsurgicalprocedureonthebottomoftheleftatriumtoeradicatetheregionalfibrillations.Thisnewsinusrhythmrestorationtecihniquewasappliedon19casesofmechanicalvalvereplacementandonecaseofsurgicalrepairofatrioventricularcanalanomalyfortheirco-existingatrialfibrillation.Results,Therewasnohospitalmortality,nopostoperativebleedingorA-Vblockdemonstrated.Sinusrhythmwasrestoredimmediatelyaftersurgeryin18patients(90/oo).Oneyearfollow-upofEKGof9patientsshowedsinusrhythrnin8.Conclusion.Theclinicalresultsdemonstratedthatthenewlydesignedsinusrhythmrestorationprocedureissafeandeffectiveinthetreatmentofchronicatrialfibrillationwithmin-imalsurigcalcomplicationssuchasbleedingandA-Vblock. |
