Abstract: | ![]() A 61-year-old man who had undergone aortocoronary bypass developed sternal osteomyelitis and mediastinitis which required sternal debridement and muscle flap interposition. Two years later the midline incision was used for an orthotopic heart transplantation. No major technical difficulties were encountered at the time of transplantation. |
