A method for the estimation of urine albumin using bromocresol green (BCG), is described. The albumin value measured by the method correlates well with a turbidimetric method for urine protein estimation1 (r = 0.99). Recoveries of added human albumin to urine samples varied between 97.4% and 100%. The method is simple, reproducible, sufficiently accurate and suitable for routine use. The method is also adaptable for automation on the Technicon AutoAnalyzer. |
