Application of PDCA Management in Reducing Inpatient Dispensary Drug Return Rate of the Hospital

Objective:To analyze the effect of PDCA management on the reduction of drug return rate in inpatient dispensary of the Hospital.Methods:The hospital began to implement PDCA management in inpatient pharmacies in 2016.The data of drug withdrawal in inpatient pharmacies from January 2015 to December 2015 were taken as the control group,and the data of drug withdrawal in inpatient pharmacies from January 2016 to December 2016 were taken as the observation group.To observe the difference of drug withdrawal in inpatient pharmacies before and after the implementation of PDCA management.Results:In the control group,there was a total of 506,871 times of normal medication,30,754 times of drug return,with the drug return rate at 5.72%.The normal medication in the observation group was 561,043 times,with 7,386 times returned,with the drug return rate at 1.23%.The drug return rate in the observation group was shown to be lower than that in the control group,P<0.05.Conclusion:PDCA management can improve the work quality of relevant clinical staff,enhance the consciousness of teamwork and responsibility,promote the scientific and rational drug withdrawal process in hospital pharmacy,thus effectively reduce the occurrence of drug withdrawal in pharmacy,and achieve good management effect.
