Abstract:
Objective To know the effect of quaternary ammonium salt combined with chlorinated disinfectant in the terminal disinfection of ICU ward.Methods The 20 bed units in the ICU ward were divided into the observation group and the control group with 10 units each using a random number table.The observation group used quaternary ammonium salt combined with a chlorine-containing disinfectant,and the control group used quaternary ammonium salt to disinfect the surface of objects as usual.Before and after the terminal disinfection,the surfaces of the two groups were sampled for bacterial culture and identification.Results Before terminal disinfection,there was no statistically significant difference in the qualified rate of surficial bacterial colony,average bacteria carrying and microbial detection rate on the surface of the two groups of objects(p>0.05).After the terminal disinfection,the qualified rate of the number of colonies on the surface of the two groups of objects increased significantly.The average bacteria carrying on the surface of the objects and the microbial detection rate decreased to varying degrees.The qualified rate of the number of colonies on the surface of the observation group was higher than that of the control group.The average bacteria carrying and the microbial detection rate were lower than those of the control group.The difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).The terminal disinfection effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group.Conclusion Both groups of terminal disinfection methods can effectively reduce the number of temporary bacteria on the surface of the objects,but the effect of quaternary ammonium salt combined with chlorinated disinfectant is better.
