Clinical study on antler horn capsules combined with tiapride in treatment of Tourette syndrome

ABSTRACT Objective To explore the clinical effect and safety of the combination of antler horn capsule combined with tiapride hydrochloride for Tourette syndrome in children. Methods 125 cases of children with Tourette syndrome in our hospital from June 2015 to January 2018 were randomly divided into control group (60 cases) and treatment group (65 cases), the control group were treated with routine tiapride hydrochloride, the treatment group were administered with application of antelope horn capsule combined with tiapride hydrochloride. At 4 weeks and 8 weeks after treatment, Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS) score and clinical effect were evaluated between two group, adverse effect and safety between two group were also compared. Results YGTSS score in the treatment group were below than the control group, there was a statistical difference between the two groups at 4 weeks and 8 weeks after treatment (P<0.05). At the end of the 8th week, the total effective rate in the treatment was higher than the control group, there was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse drug reactions in the treatment group was below than the control group, there was a differences between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of the antelope horn capsule combined with tiapride hydrochloride has clear curative effect and safety in treatment for the treatment of children with Tourette syndrome, can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of children with Tourette syndrome.
