Abstract: | Rhenium-188 has a half life of 17 h and can be stored and/or transported prior to preparation of the labelled compounds. However, the radiolysis within the aqueous solutions can result in changes in the suitability of the perrhenate solution for use in the preparation of the labelled compound. This paper reports a study of the production of the major radiolysis product, hydrogen peroxide, its effect on the formation of one radiopharmaceutical together with the results of various attempts to limit or eliminate these effects. |
