Enzymatic determination of l-ornithine in serum |

| Abstract: | Serum l-ornithine was determined enzymatically using ornithine carbamoyltransferase (OCT) from Streptococcus faecalis and measuring the citrulline formed with a diacetyl-thiosemicarbazide reaction after precipitation of proteins with trichloracetic acid. The normal fasting values, 26–92 μmol/1, correlated well with those obtained by Chromatographic methods. |
