Abstract:

Background  

Although several studies have reported the incidence of KIT and PDGFRA gene mutations in cutaneous melanomas of Caucasians, only one report is available for Mongoloids, including Japanese. In Japan, melanoma is an uncommon neoplasm compared with countries with Caucasian populations.
