The effect of multidisciplinary combined cluster intervention on infection after ureteroscopic lithotripsy

Objective To investigate the effects of multidisciplinary combined cluster intervention on infection after ureteroscopic lithotripsy following ureteroscopic lithotripsy.Methods A total of 60 patients who underwent ureteroscopic lithotripsy in urology department of the first affiliated hospital of Anhui University of Chinese medicine were divided into observation group(n=30)and control group(n=30).White blood cells(WBC),procalcitonin(PCT),c-reactiveprotein(CRP),leukocytes in urine(LEU)and quality of life(QOL)were assessed after operation.Results Blood WBC,PCT,CRP,LEU were significantly lower in observation group than those in control group in the third day after operation(P<0.05).In addition,LEU was significantly lower in observation group than those in control group in the fifth day after operation(P<0.05).Moreover,QOL in observation group was also lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Multidisciplinary combined cluster intervention can effectively reduce post-ureteroscopic lithotripsy infection and improved patient′s quality of life.
