Time and Efficacy of Surgical Treatment of Pancreatic Pseudocyst Secondary to Severe Acute Pancreatitis

Objective] To analyze the time and （PPC） secondary to severe acute pancreatitis（SAP） . efficacy of surgical treatment ot pancreatic pseuclocyst Methods] Forty seven SAP patients with PPC were se- lected. According to the operation time, patients were divided into early operation group and delayed operation group. The patients in the early operation group（ n = 22） were PPC patients at 4-8 weeks after SAP. The patients in delayed operation group（ n = 25） underwent operation at 24 weeks after the appearance of PPC. The incidence of postoperative stomal leak, average stay and mean cost of hospitalization were compared between two groups. Results] The average stay, mean cost of hospitalization and the incidence of postoperative stomal leak in early operation group were obviously lower than those in delayed operation group, and there were significant differences（ P 〈0.05）. There was no significant difference in the incidence of retrograde cystic infection between two groups（ P 〉0.05）. Conclusion] Strict operation indications and early internal drainage of PPC are effective and safe, and can avoid the incidence of cystic infection, bleeding and rupture.
