Bladder management and control in patients with pelvic malignant tumor during radiotherapy

Pelvic malignancies include prostate cancer,bladder cancer,rectal cancer,cervical cancer,endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer.Among them,prostate cancer,rectal cancer,cervical cancer and endometrial cancer incidence rate is higher.Surgery,radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the conventional treatment for most pelvic malignant tumors,but many patients miss the opportunity of surgery.Radiotherapy becomes the preferred treatment.Radiotherapy can significantly improve the local control rate of pelvic cavity and improve the overall survival.Radiotherapy is an important means to treat pelvic malignant tumor,and radiotherapy can protect normal tissues and kill tumor cells to the maximum extent.The degree of bladder filling has great influence on the target area and normal organs.Moreover,the tolerance of bladder is affected by many factors,such as the patient's diet,physical condition,whether exercise,sweating amount and weather,etc.Therefore,maintaining the consistency of bladder in each radiotherapy of patients with pelvic malignant tumor has become a hot spot in clinical research.This article mainly reviews the progress of bladder management and control in radiotherapy.
