Abstract: | Unintentional (accidental) injuries are the leading cause of death in childhood and adolescence. In this article, interventions to reduce death and disability among children from motor vehicle injuries are identified. The major categories of injury are listed, the magnitude of the problem is defined, the risk factors are described, and selected interventions of the National Committee for Injury Prevention and Control are summarized. Recommendations for practice are discussed. |
