| Abstract: | Objective To investigate the telomerase activity in liver metastases of colorectal carcinoma.Methods Telomerase activty was detected by a nonisotopic PCR-based TRAP assay (Telomeric repeat amplification protocol)in tissue samples from 24 liver metastases of colorectal carcinoma.Results Telomerase activity was observed in 19(79 2%)out of the 24 liver metastases of colorectal carcinoma.The incidence of telomerase activity in liver metastases of colorectal carcinoma was not significanty correlated to tumor number,diameter,cirrhosis and HBsAg of the patients.Conclusion The activity of telomerase may play a crucial role in liver metastases of colorectal carcinoma. |
