Abstract:AIM To establish a method for quantitative determination of six constituents in Gardenia jasminoides at different development stages,and to analyze their variations simultaneously.METHODS The analysis was conducted on a Durashell C18 column(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm),with the mobile phase comprising of acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid flowing at a rate of 1.0 mL/min for gradient elution;and the six constituents were measured at 238,328 and 440 nm,respectively.RESULTS With the maturity of Gardenia jasminoides fruit,gradual decrease in the contents of geniposide,genipin-1-β-gentioside and chlorogenic acid;gradual increase in the contents of crocetin components were found which were not observable in the early stage;and the decrease in content of genipin-1-β-gentioside following its increase at the beginning.CONCLUSION The profile on the content variations of six effective constituents in Gardenia jasminoides fruits at different developmental stages highlights the further quality control and effective constituent mechanism of Gardenia jasminoides.
