Relationship between enodometriosis and female hormones

Objective:To find out the relationship between late stage endometriosis and the female hormones.Method:Blood was drawn from stage 4 hospitalized endometriosis patients during follicular stage to determine FSH, LH, PRL E2 and P. The patients were then divided into different stages according to the staging location, number and size of foci of and scored according to the method of American fertility association in 1985. Only 35 were concordant with stage 4 endometriosis, the control group consisted of 46 O.P.O.healthy subjects and blord was drawn to determine the above hormones as well one week after menstruation. Results: E2 was obviously higher in the patient group than that in the controls (P<0 01), while P, T and PRL were also higher in the patient group (P<0 05),FSH and LH showed no change (P>0.05) Among the patient group, 22/35 cases were also suffered from aberine myona (62.9%) and 5 had excessive endometrial hyperplasia (14.3%). Conclusion:Female hormonal assays of patients with endometriosis of stage 4 show positir relations, with elevations of E2, PRL, P and T. Elevation of E2,is also related to PRL, P and T to a certain degree.
