Reasonable feeding patterns for premature infants in more than thirty-four weeks gestational age with enteral feeding intolerance

Objective To investigate the reasonable feeding patterns for premature infants in more than 34 weeks gestational age with enteral feeding intolerance.Methods One hundred and twenty-six premature infants in more than 34 weeks gestational age were randomly divided into three groups,each with 42 cases.Group A：warm water,50 g·L-1 glucose water,and 11 dilution of milk to feed three times,3 hours for one time;Group B：warm water,50 g·L-1 glucose water,and 11 dilution of milk to feed six times,3 hours for one time;Group C：warm water,50 g·L-1glucose water,and 11 dilution of milk to feed every day,3 hours for one time.Abdominal distension,vomiting,bleeding,gastric retention and time of meconium exhanstion,the duration of jaundice,time of sucking movements appear,weight growth and the average stay in three groups were observed.Results The incidence rates of abdominal distension,vomiting,gastrorrhagia and gastric retention in group A were lower than these in group B and group C（P0.05）.Time of meconium exhanstion,the duration of jaundice and the average duration of hospital stay in group A were significantly shorter than these in group B（P0.05）.The time of meconium exhanstion,the duration of jaundice and the average duration of hospital stay in group A were significantly shorter and sucking movements appear significantly earlier and weight increased fast in group A;These differences had statistical significance（P0.05）.There was no difference in the indexes between group B and group C（P0.05）.Conclusion Using warm water,glucose water and diluted of milk to feed three times each way is conducive to the promotion of feeding tolerance,and is a more reasonable way for premature infant in more than 34 weeks gestational age.
