Abstract:
Electromechanical inhibition of a demand pacemaker is reported due to the contact of two perforated right ventricular endocardial pacemaker electrodes. Electrode contact occurring during ventricular systole was verified at surgery. In vitro suppression of the demand function of a powerpack was accomplished by intermittently tapping two electrodes and generating an effective electrical signal.
