青岛市出租车司机有关艾滋病知识和态度调查

KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF TAXI DRIVERS ON AIDS IN QINGDAO

Objective To find out the knowledge and attitudes of taxi drivers towards acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).\ Methods\ 81 drivers from three taxi companies in Qingdao were randomly chosen for investigation about their knowledge,attitude,belief and practice towards AIDS. A total of 77 valid papers were received and the response rate was 95%. Results \ 84.4%(65/77) persons knew AIDS; 33.8%(26/77) knew AIDS virus was the pathogen of AIDS; 55.8%(43/77) knew the blood transmission route of AIDS; 64.9%(50/77) knew AIDS could be transmitted from mother to infant vertically; 61.1%(47/77) knew the disease could be infected through sexual intercourse with the AIDS patient; 25.9%(20/77) thought a condom could be used to prevent transmission of AIDS virus; 57.1%(44/77) thought it was necessary to promote education on AIDS knowledge.\ Conclusion\ The taxi drivers had a poor knowledge about AIDS. Promotion of education of the knowledge on AIDS should be done among taxi drivers in order to prevent the spread of AIDS among this crowd.
