On the Predicament and Breakthrough of Aesthetics from Perspective of the Humanities Methodology

The disciplinary construction of aesthetics requires the formation of unique research approaches and system of evaluation and judgment. To get rid of the nonstandard language of Chinese aesthetics in theory, we should fundamentally throw away the traditional academic view of practical reason, and carry out the re-construction of historical situation of specific periods or fields; to avoid various kinds of deviations and faults during the evolution of western aesthetics, we should basically give up the stereotyped methods of concept analysis and logic induction in research, and carry out overall cultural interpretation of specific texts or questions. Under the contemporary academic vision and background of the humanities methodology, the re-construction of historical situation and overall cultural interpretation will offer new dimensions of study and growing points of thought for the breakthrough of aesthetics, After all, the development of aesthetics study has always been closely related to transition of methods.
