Abstract: | Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone sarcoma, and occurs predominantly in children and young adults. The overall survival of patients with osteosarcoma remains low at approximately 60%.1 The prognosis of osteosarcoma patients is highly associated with response to chemotherapy.Although multiple chemotherapy regimens have improved the outcome of patients with osteosarcoma, resistance to current regimens has been reported in more than 30% of patients,2highlighting the need for novel, targeted therapies. |
